Be My Valentine Peter Rabbit.

We just got done reading Be my Valentine Peter Rabbit. My girls just loved this and my almost 10 month old son loved the part where its says i love you on the last page he kept opening it over and over again. I did notice that some of the things i have read about the sound at the end of the book have stated that some of the Be my Valentine Peter Rabbit books make a kissing noise ours says i love you. The craft we did with this book was valentine cards. My daughter needed Valentine cards for the kids in her preschool class so we decided to make some like they did in the book.
Materials needed
Scissors
Felt
Paint any colors
glue
glitter (optional)
We made Felt Valentines and glued little hearts on them then we painted them.
I cute the hearts out for her just to make it a little easier. But if you what your kids to do it it would be a good opportunity for them to practice cutting.

Here is the end result. they are so cute and your kids can go wild with the paint as you can see my daughter liked to do dots and smiley faces. I love it, and if we had glitter we would of went crazy with that too. Hope you enjoy.

An Orange in January

An Orange in January

Our First book is An orange in January My 5 year old picked this book. So How i came up with the craft was, I just asked my kids what they wanted to make. They said an orange of course :), and a tree. So we made one side of the paper an orange tree and the other side is a tree in the winter time.
Here is a List of materials we used

Paper any color
Glue
Orange paint
brown crayon
Q-tips
Cotton balls
Cotton rounds

Sorry I cant get it to rotate. I made the trees you can be more fancy or even use two different papers or even a bigger paper. Just work with what you have.

My two year old and five year old painting the cotton rounds orange so we can glue them on the tree later when they dry.

Now we are ripping up the cotton balls the girls loved this part.

This is my two year olds, finish product.

This is my five year olds, finished product.

We really enjoyed this book. My four kids just love oranges and it helped them to learn where they come from even when there is snow on the ground. Plus the pictures in the book where so colorful. My girls really enjoyed this craft also. They wanted to paint tons of oranges I almost couldn't get them to stop that part. With this craft you have two different textures the cotton balls give you a soft fluffy felling, and whose kids don't like to rip up things (I know mine do):). The cotton rounds had bumps on them which when painted looked a lot like an orange. I hope you enjoy this book and craft as much as we did.
Feed back is much welcomed
